Five Key Moments in Cyberpunk History (Timeline)

In the tutorial this week we were asked to come up with a Timeline of, what we think are, five key moments in the history of Cyberpunk. The timeline below shows both the graphic and text versions.

01/10/1927 "Metropolis" is released. Fritz Lang’s "Metropolis" is considered to be the very first "cyberpunk" film.

06/23/1968 "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" By Philip K. Dick is published. 06/25/1982 "Blade Runner" is released. Ridley Scott's "Blade Runnner" is considered to be one of the most influential films in the history of Cyberpunk. The film is based off of Philip K. Dick's novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?".

07/07/1982 The book "Burning Chrome" by William Gibson is published. "Burning Chrome" is a novel which consists of multiple short stories all based around the themes and ideas of "Cyberpunk". Gibson actually refers to the term "Cyberspace" for the first time In "Burning Chrome".

04/08/1999 The film, "The Matrix" is released. "The Matrix" was almost immediately a pop cult classic upon it's release in 1999.

  In my research I noticed that the biggest time of growth for Cyberpunk was from the years 1982 to 2003.
